Welcome

My name is Gregory M. Lousignont.  I have known Father White since I was 14.  I am 72 now.  I have been married to my wife, Diana, for 51 years.  We have three wonderful children and their spouses and two grandchildren with another on the way.

Father White has always been a blessed part of our family.  Baptizing my daughter, marrying my son, and baptizing one of my grandchildren.  He has joined us for meals, and said mass in our home.

For we, the faithful who knew him, Father Francis P. White was a priest that openly and proudly proclaimed his love of Jesus Christ.

He brought us who knew him closer to Jesus and a devotion to Our Lord's Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Father White's message was the same that was taught by our Savior.  To love, to forgive, to pray, and to live a life pleasing to God.

He taught these not only by his words, but by how he lived his life.

The time has come for us, the faithful, to acknowledge a truth we all know.  Father White, Our Priest, Our Friend, Our Confessor, Our Mentor, Our Counselor, and Teacher, is in Heaven with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Father White's 77 Years
of Religious Life

The Rev. Francis White, CSV, the oldest member of the Viatorian Community, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the Viatorian Province Center in Arlington Heights. Born Sept. 19, 1917 in Springfield, IL, he served as a priest for for over 70 years and in religious life for 77. Fr. White was 97.

Fr. White attended Cathedral Boys’ High School in Springfield, where he first met the Viatorians. Shortly after graduating, Fr. White took his first vows in 1937 as a Viatorian brother. For one year, he attended St. Viator College, studying Latin, before it closed in 1938.

How Does a Person Qualify for Sainthood?

How is a person declared a Saint in the Catholic Church?

You might have some idea.  However, the process in more involved and complex than you may think.

Have no delusions, the road is neither a short one nor is it an easy one.  However, as it has been said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."

Click on the read more below to visit the site of the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops to better understand the process of the road to Sainthood.

By reading the explanation from the Catholic Conference of Bishop's Site you will have a better understanding of the mission we must undertake In the Cause of Father Francis P. White, C.S.V.

Our Mission

The first step of this mission is to accumulate witness statements and evidence of personal knowledge attesting to Father White's holy life.

In so doing we can approach our Bishop, and petition him.  If the Bishop determines there is significant evidence to corroborate that Father White, by his life and deeds led a Christ-like life, the Bishop can take a crucial step.

Specifically the bishop of the diocese is responsible for beginning the investigation.  The petitioner (who for example can be the diocese, bishop, religious order or association of the faithful) asks the bishop through a person known as the postulator to open the investigation.

In our circumstances we would be "An Associations of the Faithful."

Dear God, our Heavenly Father, through the grace of the Holy Spirit, if it is Your will, please guide us in our mission to have Father Francis P. White declared Your Servant.
